The Hardcorist Lectores and their Worldmaking Laboratories
Battleground of Human Settlement (BOHS)
In an unconventional turn of my curriculum, I developed a school meant to address the social issue of humanity's relationship with its environment. Set on the grounds of a former airbase in southeastern Puerto Rico, this campus designed by my 11 colleagues and me is meant to address 12 differing social issues that plague our world. Each of us took on a problem to address, not solve, with architecture and precedents. Based loosely on the works of radicals and protesters from Walter Gropius to the Puerto Rican textile workers of 1919, this Studio is centered on combining form with execution of space in a world that grows simultaneously more connected and divided.
